Assemb. Phil Ramos (D-Central Islip) responds to would-be Gov. Steve Levy's branding the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic and Asian Legislative Caucus as peddling "flat-out lies"  in its attacks on his record in Suffolk and the group's portrayal of him in a letter as a deliberate racial polarizer.

"It's ironic he'd call the caucus liars when he's the king of backpedalers," Ramos said. He cited what he maintains was an effort by County Exec Levy to have police officers years ago check on immigrants' documentation status. "His deceptions are an insult to all New Yorkers," the lawmaker charged.
