In special elections for Brookhaven and Southampton town board seats, voting so far is light, according to a noontime  survey of election locations.
Elections officials say that in Brookhaven 1,588 voters or 3.38 percent have so far turned out to the polls. In Southampton, 1,542 voters have turned, about 4.18 percent.
 In Brookhaven, Democrat Doug Dittko is vying with Republican Dan Panico for the sixth district seat left vacant by the death of Keith Romaine. In Southampton Republican William  Hughes is squaring off against Democratic Bridget Fleming for the seat vacated when Anna throne Holst was elected town supervisor.
