GOP loyalist Richard Bianculli is leaving as head of planning for Nassau County after four months to join Nassau Downs, the local OTB, a county spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

Bianculli was once a driver for county GOP Chairman Joseph Mondello and is still treasurer of Mondello’s campaign committee, according to state Board of Elections records.

Bianculli, who had been head of planning and economic development at the Town of Hempstead, was named by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano at the beginning of the year to the post of executive commission of the Nassau County Planning Commission, making him the point-person on planning matters.

For now, at least, his county duties will fall to Patrick Foye, the deputy county executive of economic development.

The move was first reported in Long Island Business News.
