The opening reception for an exhibition of photographs that captured the destruction wrought by superstorm Sandy will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday in the Arts Exchange Building, 31 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

ArtsWestchester's "Hurricane Sandy: Through the Lens of Local Photographers" will explore the storm through the featured works of more than 50 amateur and professional photographers.

There is a suggested donation of $10 for the reception, and all proceeds from the event will go to the Westchester arm of Habitat for Humanity. For more information, visit www.artsw.org/sandy
