Caption / Share

Seven fire departments battled an early morning blaze Sunday, April 26, 2015, in a vacant two-story, wood-frame Westbury house that was under renovation. There were no injuries reported. Westbury fire official Doug Ingram said the fire at 240 Sheridan St. broke out at 5:57 a.m. and that it took a half-hour to bring it under control. Ingram said the blaze started at the rear of the building and spread to the second floor and into the basement. Ingram called the damage "extensive."(Credit: Paul Mazza)
