The Long Island serial killer case
Latest on the mystery at Long Island's South Shore beaches, where 10 sets of remains have been found along Ocean Parkway since December of 2010. Some officials have speculated the deaths are the result of a serial killer. Some believe there may be several killers involved.
Although her death may have been accidental drowning, not homocide, it was Shannan Gilbert whose disappearance in Oak Beach prompted the search and discovery of the other bodies. Her remains were discovered Dec. 13, 2011.
