Soupy Sales felt heat for joke on New Year's Day show
It was probably a cold day, that particular New Year's Day in 1965, though Soupy Sales was about to feel the heat.
According to TV legend, he was annoyed that he had to work on a holiday, and so that apparently gave a little edge to an ad-libbed joke at the end of that day's show.
