Study: Nearly half of LIPA workers make six-figure salary

WOODBURY - LIPA crews have a tough job but many are also paid very well.

According to a study by Newsday, nearly half of all LIPA workers make more than $100,000. Those earning a six-figure salary are making an average of nearly $148,000.

That's not a typical salary on Long Island -- only 8% of residents in the area make over $100,000.
