Boy, 10, struck and critically injured on Lindenhurst highway

A boy, John Johnson, 10, of Lindenhurst, was critically injured Saturday night when he was struck by a car as he crossed Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst with his mother, Suffolk County police said. The boy, who suffered a head injury, was flown to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. There was no crime suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
