Amityville cop injured in collision
An Amityville police officer suffered a concussion and "facial bruising" in a late-night accident with a Hummer on Thursday, police said. The officer, whose identity has not been released, was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip and released. The other driver was not injured, police said Friday.
