Investigators from Suffolk County's Arson Squad are trying to determine the cause of an early morning fire Wednesday in Islandia.

Central Islip Fire Chief Ed Freudenberg said his department responded to a fire at an unoccupied house on Dean Street at about 4:45 p.m. and needed just a little more than two hours to extinguish the blaze.

Freudenberg said the fire was under control quickly, but "there were lot of hot spots and stuff we needed to take care of" before the fire was put out.

No firefighters were injured, but Freudenberg said the Suffolk County Arson Squad is investigating.
