A man was stabbed in his stomach during a disturbance that broke out at the Royal Dorado Bar in Riverhead early Saturday -- one week after a different patron at the bar was injured by a beer bottle to the face, Riverhead town police said.
Police said they responded to a reported disturbance at the bar at 1005 E. Main St. shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday. They learned a stabbing had occurred and that the victim, Audiel Velazquez, had left the area, officials said.
Police said they later found Velazquez at his home, the address of which was not released.
He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and underwent surgery for internal injuries, police said. An update on his condition was not immediately available .
No arrests have been made in the case, police said.
A week earlier, on July 25, a patron at the same bar was arrested after he allegedly threw a beer bottle at another man's face around 1 a.m., causing injuries, police said.
Diego Abrego, 23, of Riverhead, was charged with second-degree assault for allegedly throwing the bottle at Pablo Castro, 27, also of Riverhead.
Police did not say whether the incidents were related.
