A Shirley woman was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend during a domestic dispute Saturday night at the Tanger Outlet Center in Riverhead, police said.

Officers say Paul C. Thompson Jr., 24, then forced the 23-year-old victim to drive to Midway Drive where she freed herself and called police from a nearby residence.

Riverhead ambulance responded to the scene at 8:15 p.m. and took the woman to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment, police said. The extent of her injuries wasn't immediately known.

Thompson, who fled on foot, was last known to be living in Calverton, but has ties to the Mastic Beach area, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500, ext. 289.
