Four people were injured in a single car accident just after 10 a.m. on Route 109 near the Southern State Parkway, officials said.

A Cadillac sedan went of the road and struck a utility pole snapping it and then overturned. The East Farmingdale Fire Company and an Ambulance from the Farmingdale Fire Department responded and transported the injured to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Route 109 eastbound was closed for a period of time until the pole could be replaced.
