Cash box recovered after theft in Peconic
The man stole the cash box from his egg stand, Walter Marczewski told police, then drove off in a silver sedan with Florida license plates.
The incident happened in Peconic Sunday at 4:24 p.m.
The victim later found the car - and the alleged thief - on Carpenter Street in Greenport and called the Town of Southold police, who arrested Michael Zervos and charged him with petty larceny.
