Cops: 2 arrested on weapons charges after shots fired

Two men were arrested on weapons charges late Saturday after "several gunshots were fired" during an altercation in front of a West Babylon home, police said.

First Precinct police officers responded at about 10:45 p.m. to a 911 call reporting the shooting in front of a house at 10 Edith Ct., Suffolk County police said Sunday in a news release.

No one was injured in the shooting, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

"During the investigation, police recovered a .25 caliber handgun that had been reported stolen in the state of Delaware in 2006," police said in the release.

Malik Ford, 20, a resident of 10 Edith Ct., was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

Joseph O'Keefe, 19, of 878 Little East Neck Rd., West Babylon, was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Their arraignment information was not immediately available.
