Cops: 2 hurt, 8 charged in Lake Grove fight

A skirmish in Lake Grove has left two people with broken jaws and eight people, seven of them teens, arrested and charged with rioting, Suffolk police said Tuesday.

The eighth person arrested was the father of one of the teens, but police declined to characterize his involvement.

Police said the fight took place at about 4:15 p.m. Friday on the grounds of the Wenonah Elementary School, a school in the Sachem district.

Two people were taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center with broken jaws, police said, though they declined to identify either.

Citing the ongoing investigation, police declined to provide additional details.

Arrested were: Sean McClarnon, 18, of Holbrook; James Ippolito, 17, of Lake Ronkonkoma; Bonardigh Faustin, 19, of Farmingville; Richard Fish, 17, of Ronkonkoma; Matthew Cunningham, 17, of Ronkonkoma; Chaleek Williams, 18, of Lake Ronkonkoma; and Jesse Schwenker, 18, and his father, Thomas Schwenker, 50, both of Nesconset.

Police said seven of the arrests took place Friday evening in Lake Grove; Cunningham was arrested Saturday.

All eight were charged with first-degree riot, police said. Arraignment details were not immediately available.
