Cops: 4 hurt in Wading River car accident

Riverhead police were at the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Wading River Monday morning in which one person was hurt and airlifted to the hospital, police said. Videojournalist: James Carbone (April 29, 2013) 

Riverhead police are investigating a motor-vehicle accident in Wading River that injured four people, including at least one who was airlifted, a police spokeswoman said Monday.

A call for an accident with an overturned vehicle near Fink's Country Farm Stand at 6242 Middle Country Rd. was received at 7:45 a.m., police said.

Middle Country Road was closed until just before 12:30 p.m., police said, as Suffolk County's Aviation Unit transported at least one injured person to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.

A police spokeswoman later said four people were hurt, but she had no details on the injuries or the accident.
