A Bay Shore teen was arrested Thursday and charged in the shooting of a 21-year-old Monday in West Babylon, Suffolk County police said.

Shameek Hutchinson, 17, of Union Boulevard, was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree criminal use of a firearm in connection with the shooting of Christian Warren in front of Warren's home on Wright Street Monday at 4:30 p.m. Hutchinson was scheduled for arraignment Saturday in First District Court in Central Islip.

Police said Hutchinson fired from a vehicle, striking Warren in the face -- and seriously injuring him. Warren was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of his gunshot wound and was later transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital. Warren was admitted to Stony Brook in serious but stable condition.
