A 6-year-old boy found unresponsive in his family's North Lindenhurst pool has died, police said Wednesday.

First Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident Tuesday on Bedell Street, where the boy's grandmother found the child in the pool at about 5:05 p.m. and pulled him out, Suffolk County police said in a news release.

The grandmother called 911, and West Babylon Volunteer Fire Department Rescue took the boy to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
