A car involved in an early-morning accident in West Babylon ended up in a hole -- the result of street flooding from a fire hydrant broken in the crash, police said.

Suffolk County police said the driver of the car was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip after the one-car accident on Little East Neck Road near Rutland Road at 1 a.m.
