Cops: Coram man seriously hurt in motorcycle crash

A Coram man was seriously injured Sunday when he crashed a motorcycle into a tree in Medford, Suffolk County police said.

Michael Bray, 21, of Norfleet Lane, was not wearing a helmet -- and suffered serious injuries in the crash on Bellport Avenue at 6:05 p.m., police said.

The crash site was about 300 feet south of Country Road.

Bray was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, and was later transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said. The 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, which police described as an unregistered off-road dirt bike, was impounded.

The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652. All calls will remain confidential.
