Suffolk County police are searching for a driver who ran away after rear-ending a pickup truck in East Patchogue on Sunday, sending the occupants to the hospital.

Police said a 2002 Ford pickup truck was waiting to turn into an apartment complex at 891 Montauk Hwy. at about 12:20 p.m. when the truck was rear-ended by a Ford Econoline van.

The driver of the van then got out and began running west on Montauk Highway, police said.

The driver was described as 5-foot-10 with a medium build, and wearing shorts and a yellow T-shirt.
