East Hampton Town Police said Friday they are investigating a death in the dunes near a motel on Old Montauk Highway.

Management from a motel on the highway near Cleveland Drive requested at 11:47 a.m. Friday that police check on the well-being of a guest.

Police searched the area and found a body in the dunes near the motel, according to a news release.
