Suffolk County police are investigating a two-vehicle accident Monday morning that killed a motorcyclist in North Lindenhurst.

Douglas Shapiro, 45, of Lindenhurst, was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip after being thrown from his 2013 BMW motorcycle about 8 a.m. on Wellwood Avenue near Fifth Street, police said.

Shapiro was riding north on Wellwood when he was sideswiped by a 2007 Chrysler, driven by Maria Martinez, 38, of West Babylon, police said.

Martinez was neither issued a ticket nor arrested, police said.
