A Brooklyn man faces a misdemeanor charge after a state trooper saw him in a moving sport utility vehicle watching a pornographic movie, police said Tuesday.

State trooper Michael Mangano pulled alongside a GMC Yukon on the Southern State Parkway in West Babylon Saturday and "looked to the right and observed the rear seat passenger . . . watching TV," according to the official state police account of the incident. "[Trooper] Mangano observed the movie to be pornographic."

The trooper immediately stopped the vehicle and arrested Gerald L. Williams, 37, charging him with public display of offensive sexual material, police said.

Williams was released and ordered to appear for a hearing May 14 in First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
