Cops: Pit bull injured in Huntington home break-in
Three men who forced their way inside a Huntington house early Tuesday ransacked the bedroom and injured a dog defending the home, Suffolk police said.
The dog - a pit bull - was treated by a local veterinarian. A 911 caller told police the dog was shot in the 12:54 a.m. break-in at the home on Glen Na Little Trail. But a police spokeswoman said it was unclear exactly how the dog was injured.
