Cops probe bank robbery during storm

Suffolk County police are investigating a bank robbery in Lake Ronkonkoma during the snowstorm Tuesday.

The robbery occurred at the TD Bank branch on Portion Road at about 1:45 p.m.

Police said the suspect, described as being about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a slim build and wearing a black mask and yellow raincoat, entered the bank -- and handed a teller a demand note, saying that he had a gun.

It was not immediately clear how much money the robber stole, but police said the suspect was last seen fleeing west on foot. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
