Keith Outlaw of Wyandanch, and his wife, Lois, hold some of the litter produced by his Staffordshire terriers Onyx and Duchess Monday at their home. Onyx and Duchess had gotten loose Sunday and wandered to another neighborhood where they were shot by Suffolk County Police officers. Outlaw says that despite resembling pit bulls, the two dogs were gentle. Duchess gave birth to eleven puppies two months ago, nine of which have survived.
