Police in Riverhead are searching for two men who they said fired shots into a home during a home-invasion robbery Tuesday.
The home on East Avenue in Riverhead was occupied at the time by two adults, as well as a 15-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, Riverhead Town police said.
No one was injured.
It was not clear what, if anything, was taken.
Police said "several shell casings" from the bullets fired at the house were found on the ground "near the exterior of the residence." The incident was first reported at about 11:30 p.m., when the caller reported "someone was shooting at their house," police said.
Police said both men were wearing masks during the home invasion and said they were armed with "an unknown type of gun." It was not clear how many shots were fired.
