Police said "several shell casings" from the bullets fired at the house were found on the ground "near the exterior of the residence." The incident was first reported at about 11:30 p.m., when the caller reported "someone was shooting at their house," police said.

Police said both men were wearing masks during the home invasion and said they were armed with "an unknown type of gun." It was not clear how many shots were fired.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call them at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
