A 15-year-old North Babylon boy threatened to bomb a United States government facility and falsely claimed there was a bomb in a West Babylon home in a phone call he made to the home Saturday night, Suffolk County police said Monday.

Police charged the boy, whose name was not released because of his age, with falsely reporting an incident, a felony, after officers from the Emergency Service Section verified that there were no explosive devices in the home.

First Squad detectives traced his call with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Police did not say if he'd threatened any particular government facility.

Police released the boy into his parents' custody. He is scheduled to appear in Family Court at a later date, police said.
