The suspect approached the victim from behind on Mason Avenue and held the BB gun to his head, police said. After getting the wallet, a witness to the robbery confronted the suspect, police said.

Police said the suspect then ran off on foot, taking the wallet and leaving behind the bicycle.

The witness gave First Precinct officers a description of the suspect, and Officer James Hillgardner found him within 10 minutes of the robbery, police said.

The victim was not injured.
