Cops: Wading River man charged with speeding and drug charge

A man stopped for speeding Saturday in Flanders was arrested, charged with possession of prescription medications without a prescription, Southampton Town police said.

Police said James Costello, 46, of Wading River, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substances and also given a ticket for speeding after the stop on Flanders Road at 9:57 a.m.

He was given an appearance ticket and released.

Police did not say what type of prescription medication Costello possessed without a proper prescription -- and did not say how fast he was driving when stopped by officers.
