A robber who targeted an 81-year-old man at a Selden ATM was arrested Tuesday night shortly after his victim fought back, Suffolk police said.

Paul Rysanek, 21, of Selden, punched the man as he was trying to retrieve cash from a money machine at Independence Plaza on Route 25 about 6:10 p.m., police said.

A witness called 911 to report the robbery, and the victim told officers he was punched but fought back, sending his attacker fleeing on foot without any money, police said.
