A witness called 911 to report the robbery, and the victim told officers he was punched but fought back, sending his attacker fleeing on foot without any money, police said.

A short time later, Sixth Precinct Officer Michael Palumbo noticed a person matching the robber's description on Wyandotte Street in Selden and arrested him.

Rysanek, of 80 Maplewood Ave., is scheduled to be arraigned on third-degree attempted robbery Thursday at First District Court in Central.

Sixth Precinct detectives ask anyone with information to call them at 631-854-8652 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
