Adventureland amusement park in East Farmingdale lost part of its power Thursday afternoon for about 90 minutes, shutting down some rides, officials said.

Manager Sonny Grosso blamed the outage on a tractor-trailer that crashed into a nearby power pole on Route 110 at about 3 p.m. He said some other area businesses also lost power.

The east end of the park was without power until about 4:30 p.m., officials said.

Grosso said refunds were granted to any disappointed customers, but Farmingdale resident Danny Canales, 26, wasn't happy as he walked his daughter and two young cousins to his car.

"They didn't offer me a refund," Canales said, noting that he had paid a total of $75 for admission.
