On the one-year anniversary of superstorm Sandy, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo went to a Hess gas station in Port Jefferson on Tuesday to discuss the State's Strategic Fuel Reserve an emergency plan to keep gas stations operational in the case of another extreme storm. The initiative includes a new law recently passed in Albany requiring gas stations within a half-mile of a highway exit or along a hurricane evacuation route to be able to hook up to an emergency power generator within 24 hours of a power outage. The Hess station demonstrated its generator to the governor during his visit. Videojournalist: Chris Ware (Oct. 29, 2013)
