Disabled Smithtown man makes his marathon goal

Donna LaForgia kept vigil at the entrance to Central Park - mile 23.5 of the New York City Marathon. Worry etched on her face as she strained her neck, hoping to see a white baseball hat bobbing in the crowd.
It was 2:30 p.m. and her husband, Mike, 44, should have been there by now. Granted, that was the best case scenario, she said, but Mike LaForgia had a way of defying expectation.
