An East Moriches man was killed when his car left the road and hit a tree and telephone pole in Shirley Sunday morning,
Suffolk police said.
Ronald Murphy, 20, was alone in his 2012
Nissan Altima when the car left the northbound lane on William Floyd Parkway and crashed south of Coraci Boulevard at 11:50 a.m. police said.
Mastic Beach Fire Department responded within minutes and used hydraulic rescue tools to remove him from the vehicle, but Murphy was pronounced dead at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.

Police impounded the car for a safety check and detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
