An East Setauket bank was robbed Monday, prompting local school officials to begin a lockdown of school grounds.
A man handed a note to a teller at the Chase Branch at 4080 Nesconset Hwy., demanding cash and indicating he had a gun, police said. The teller complied with the demand and the man fled the bank on foot about 2:10 p.m., Suffolk police said.
