Ex-cop testifies about Fire Island tourist's beating
A former Ocean Beach police officer told jurors Wednesday he had "a front-row seat" to the beating of a Manhattan tourist that he said he will "never forget."
David Gerdon, who was later fired from the department, said the Aug. 28, 2005, assault came after the tourist, Samuel Gilberd, angrily kicked a door on his way out of the station.
