FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Islip, Mastic to close

Those affected by superstorm Sandy have until 3 p.m. Sunday to visit Disaster Recovery Centers in Islip and Mastic, which will be closing, according to a FEMA release.

Seven other Long Island centers will remain open.

Those affected by the storm have until Jan. 28 to register for federal disaster assistance, which could include "money for rent, essential home repairs, personal property...
