Girl born 4 months early now thriving 1st-grader

Richard DeMasi plucked his wedding band off and showed it to his giggling, squirming daughter, Gina, as she stood next to him.
The ring, he told Gina softly, slipped easily over her thin arms and legs after her premature birth, when she weighed 1 lb. 2 oz. and measured 11 inches.
"Not anymore," he said Wednesday.
