Two masked men entered a Stuyvesant Street home in Greenlawn Wednesday afternoon and one of them hit a 30-year-old man in the head with a gun, police said.
The man called 911 at 12:46 p.m. to say someone had shot at him, police said. Police later said the man was not shot but was brought to the hospital with cuts on his head. Another man was inside the home at the time of the assault who was not injured, police said.
A section of Stuyvesant Street was closed Wednesday afternoon. At least 10 Suffolk County police cars and vans were parked in the area and several lines of police tape blocked off the street. Police were seen going into a Stuyvesant Street home and walking in the front yard.
Police said there have been no arrests and they are still investigating the motive.
