Group urges keeping distance from dolphins in harbors
Please stay away.
That's the request the president of the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation made on behalf of the welfare of a group of bottlenose dolphins swimming between Cold Spring, Huntington and Northport harbors Friday.
Charles Bowman said by law people and boats must stay 150 feet away from any marine mammals - for the safety of both animals and humans....
