Suffolk County police say that a woman found injured on the side of Fifth Avenue at Walbridge Avenue in North Bay Shore Saturday night may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.
The woman, 58, a Bay Shore resident, was taken to Southside Hospital, 301 E. Main St., Bay Shore, with serious injuries that a police spokeswoman said were consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
