Holtsville woman fights off would-be burglar in her home
A woman in Holtsville about to leave for work fought back against a burglar who hit her in the head during a pre-dawn confrontation, Suffolk County police said.
The burglar, who is still at large, fled the scene without stolen goods, police said, but the woman sustained head injuries at the hands of the burglar and had to be treated at the hospital.
The burglar had sneaked into the garage...
