The five were arrested early Sunday, police said, when Third Precinct officers responded to the lot at Suffolk Avenue at about 3:20 a.m. after receiving an anonymous 911 call reporting car break-ins.
Police also said a BB gun was recovered; it had been used by the suspects to break windows in some of the targeted cars.
Further investigation determined the suspects were responsible for damaging about 15 cars and stealing items from the vehicles in the same railroad parking lot since May 24, police said in a news release.
