A male juror in the trial of a Farmingville man charged in the choking death of a bar bouncer was excused from the panel Wednesday because of comments he had made to other jurors about the case.
Judge C. Randall Hinrichs said another of the jurors told him that the juror in question had made statements about the case based on a newspaper article.
