LIU agrees to sell East End radio station
Public radio on the East End may have been saved.
Long Island University has signed a letter of intent with Peconic Public Broadcasting to sell them the license for WLIU in Southampton. The grassroots group was fighting to save WLIU by creating its own not-for-profit entity.
LIU says it is committed to keeping public radio on the East End and that the group offered the most money.
