Medford gas station attendant shot

A gas station employee was shot by an armed robber in Medford on Saturday evening, Suffolk police said.

The shooting occurred at the BP gas station at 1614 Route 112 at 8:39 p.m., police said. The employee was sitting in his booth when a man came up to him with a gun and demanded money, according to police.

The man shot the employee, took an unknown amount of money and left, police said. The employee was taken by Medford Ambulance to Stony Brook Hospital in serious condition.
